Our history

In the spring of 1993 two students struck upon a way of earning a bit of extra money. One of them knew a paper wholesaler, so they decided that they would try to offer paper to customers as salesmen.

When they gained their first customer they found out that the wholesaler did not have the goods in stock, and so as not to disappoint the customer they somehow scraped the goods together elsewhere. They purchased upon an invoice and sold for cash. They delivered the goods to the customer by metro and en route bought snowdrops to express their gratitude. They deposited "capital" totalling CZK 10,000 and two backpacks into the business, borrowed a car and within a few months had earned enough for the first fax machine.

By 2001 PAPIRIUS had extended its services to Slovakia and by 2002 to Hungary too, and in so doing transformed itself from a Czech firm into a European company.

In 2006 PAPIRIUS celebrates thirteen years of business success. Over this period it has undergone extremely dynamic development, continuously coming up with new services, improving existing ones and investing in state-of-the-art technologies.
